Reducing DTF Film Waste Through Better Nesting
Is the tightest possible layout always best?

Measure usable transfers per roll, not just printed area. Efficient nesting balances film utilization with cutting, order identification and pressing labor.
Group compatible work Arrange orders that use the same validated print settings and handling instructions. Leave practical cutting space and identify orders outside the artwork where possible. Avoid filling every gap if that makes small transfers difficult to separate or trace.
Track accepted yield Compare the amount of film consumed with transfers that pass inspection and reach the customer. Include startup waste and reprints. Review recurring empty strips and oversized spacing before assuming a wider printer is necessary. A slightly less dense layout may still deliver lower total labor cost.
