Improving DTG Pretreatment Consistency

Can more pretreatment always improve a dark-garment print?

Improving DTG Pretreatment Consistency

Treat pretreatment as a controlled production step with an approved material, application method and drying process. Record enough information to repeat a successful garment.

Start with identified blanks Keep fabric composition, garment color and lot visible in the trial record. Use the pretreatment specified for the ink and garment system. Avoid comparing different blanks while simultaneously changing application conditions.

Make application repeatable Follow the supplier’s instructions for handling, application and drying. Define a routine that operators can repeat and inspect samples before printing large quantities. When defects appear, compare the garment before printing, after printing and after finishing to locate the stage introducing the problem.
