Color & workflow
Drying Before Finishing Wide-Format Graphics
Follow the ink and media suppliers’ drying instructions before finishing. Printing completion and finishing readiness are separate production milestones.

Plan a realistic finishing queue
Record the ink, media and print mode used for each job. Confirm handling and drying guidance for the specific system. Avoid treating a surface that feels dry as proof that every downstream operation is appropriate.
Validate the finished construction
Trial the intended finishing process on a representative print and inspect appearance, dimensions and handling. Include required waiting and finishing time in the promised delivery schedule. When materials change, revisit the approved process rather than inheriting a generic delay.
Production checklist
Use these checkpoints to prepare a trial or discuss the configuration with your supplier. Record the result for each item before approving a production change.
- Supplier drying guidance
- Job and material identity
- Finishing trial
- Delivery schedule includes waiting time
Is there one waiting time for every printed vinyl?
No. Use the instructions for the specific ink, media, print conditions and finishing system.
